Pre nursing prerequisites
Prior to attending UT Health San Antonio, all BSN students must complete a set of prerequisite courses at a regionally accredited institution, and all prerequisite courses must be passed with a grade of C or higher.Applicants must complete at least 51 out of 60 hours of prerequisite courses, including all math and science courses identified in the table below, prior to submitting an application. Direct entry 4-year BSN: A full-time program where students complete Mason Core and nursing prerequisites with nursing courses introduced in their freshman year. Second-gate 2-year BSN: A full-time program that follows the completion of the Mason Core and nursing prerequisite requirements with students entering nursing courses in their junior year.This is a full-time, specialized admissions program, as mandated by the state, and is structured sequentially. Admission is competitive. Any student who applies to the undergraduate program at the College of Nursing is initially coded as “pre-nursing” prior to official acceptance to the College of Nursing.
