I had the same issue. Eventually it wouldn't cycle at all. I had to get the base replaced after troubleshooting over the phone. Unfortunately you may have to get it replaced again. Make sure there isn't any litter under the globe and vacuum it out if there is. Also make sure the foam strips around the top of the waste bin aren't peeling up.
