I'm amazed that making it in a small frame patter has such a big impact on the weight. I'm curious if the barrel in this is machined using the same process as the Ruger American line up. I have a Ruger American Hunter whose barrel shoots sub-MOA, even after it gets pretty warm. Having a barrel like that in an AR-10 would be pretty awesome.

It does a great job of controlling recoil…but the muzzle blast is impressive! I took mine to the local indoor range and even though the muzzle was a foot beyond the lane dividers, it blew the instructions and safety placards off the walls!! The difference between 18" & 16" is probably going to be negligible for hunting/plinking. I wouldn't even worry about it. I would absolutely pay the extra for the Sig. I think those rifles are supremely undervalued and sooner than later they’ll end up at $2k retail. 6 months ago you could find one for $1299 online.
